About Robert van Ewijk

Attorney Robert van Ewijk successfully completed the master's degree in Law in 2014. Following this master, he completed the Grotius specialization course in Real Estate Law cum laude in 2019. Robert specializes in advising and litigating in the areas of real estate law, construction law, rental law and VvE law.

For example, Robert has conducted several successful proceedings on fulfillment of business premises purchase agreement, settled he inheritance boundary disputes in favor of his clients, he acts for landlords of commercial space at the termination of the lease and litigates regularly - and successfully - over disputes in VvEs. In doing so, he acts both for apartment owners and for the association.

Ancillary activities

In addition to his daily law practice, Robert is involved in Nederlandvve.nl, an information platform for owners' associations. Partly for this reason, Robert has a special interest in the VvE Law. Given his special knowledge of this area of law, Robert is also regularly heard or seen on radio and TV. He appeared as an expert on The Driving Judge and was interviewed by the program EenVandaag on Radio 1.

Lecturer in real estate law & lectures

In addition, Robert van Ewijk is engaged in sharing knowledge as a teacher of real estate law. He teaches brokers and appraisers on all kinds of legal real estate related topics. Robert also lectures regularly to property managers, brokers and housing associations on real estate and law.

Memberships

Robert is a member of the Real Estate Lawyers Association (VVJ). The VVJ aims to promote the expert professional practice of real estate lawyers, and organizes various seminars to that end. He is also a member of the Juristenvereniging Appartementsrecht, an association whose purpose is the exchange of knowledge between lawyers, notaries and other lawyers in the field of VvE and apartment law.

Publications

Publications by Robert regularly appear in (professional) journals. Some examples include the journal Huurrecht in de Praktijk (HIP), in which an article appeared in issue 5 / 2020 on the question of whether or not a dog ban in the internal rules of the VvE is permitted. That article is here read online. An interview with Robert titled “Mandatory charging station for CoEs? ”. By Plus Magazine (with a circulation of 30,000 the largest paid monthly magazine in the Netherlands) he was interviewed about VvE insurance in February 2020 for the ‘Money & Law’ section. And in 2018, Robert was interviewed by the Algemeen Dagblad about VvEs. The article that appeared as a result is here to read.

Register of Jurisdictions

Robert van Ewijk has registered real estate law as his main areas of practice in the Bar Association's Register of Jurisdictions. Pursuant to this registration, Robert is required by the standards of the Dutch Bar Association to obtain ten training points each year in each registered principal area of law.
